Amaya is 10 years old. She was diagnosed with DHX30 Syndrome at nine and a half, after years of being undiagnosed.

Amaya is non-verbal and cannot walk. She loves music, nursery rhymes, and telephone ring tunes, which bring a smile to her face and make her giggle.

Amaya attends a special school, which she loves. Her peers and teachers adore her for being a sassy girl with attitude. She uses her eyes and facial expressions to let you know her mood.

Amaya is also extremely well-travelled and continues to explore the world.

She has a younger sister who is 8 years old.
